Truecaller, a leading caller identification app, has launched real-time caller ID functionality for iPhone users, bridging a gap that previously left iOS users without this feature. This development is made possible by Apple’s introduction of the Live Caller ID Lookup framework in iOS 18.2, which allows third-party apps to securely access caller information.
Enhanced Features for iOS Users
With the latest update, Truecaller leverages Apple’s Live Caller ID Lookup framework to provide live caller ID without compromising user privacy. The framework’s application programming interface (API) uses homomorphic encryption for data protection. This means that Truecaller can now identify all types of calls on iPhones, bringing its iOS app on par with its Android counterpart.
Privacy and Security
The integration utilizes homomorphic encryption, ensuring that user data remains protected during the caller identification process. This method allows data to be processed in its encrypted form, maintaining privacy and security for users.
Subscription Details
Truecaller’s premium tier on iOS starts at $9.99 per month per individual or $74.99 per year. The company also offers a family plan on iOS starting at $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year, and the top-end Gold subscription at $249 per year.
