The question remains—when exactly in October?
Typically, Google releases a new flagship Pixel phone alongside the latest version of Android, but this year the company decided to break tradition by launching the Pixel 9 series earlier than usual.
So what about Android 15? We’re still waiting. However, Google has subtly revealed the timeframe for the software’s rollout.
According to Android Authority, Google updated the release notes for the Android Beta Exit update, which users see when they opt out of the Android 15 beta. These notes now mention that Android 15 will be available in October.
This confirmation from official Google release notes suggests that Android 15 is indeed set for an October launch, although it’s a rather understated way to announce such a significant update.
October Rollout Expected
The notes don’t provide a specific date, so the exact timing within October remains unclear. However, sources close to Android Authority suggest that Android 15 may start rolling out around the middle of the month.
Even when Android 15 is released, it will initially be available only on Pixel phones. Other manufacturers will need time to adapt and prepare their own versions for their devices.
For owners of Samsung, OnePlus, and other Android brands, this means the update could be delayed by weeks—or even longer in some cases.
Nevertheless, the wait for Android 15 should be worthwhile. Based on beta versions and leaks, the update is expected to introduce features like battery health monitoring, lock screen widgets, a Private Space to hide sensitive apps, Bluetooth Auracast support, and much more.
