One UI 6.1.1 Update Is Reaching Out To Other Galaxy Flagship Devices With Advanced AI Features
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 were launched with the One UI 6.1.1 update, introducing advanced new features to Samsung’s foldable series. The latest update is AI-driven, bringing enhanced capabilities to Samsung’s flagship devices, all aimed at improving the overall user experience. Users who do not plan on upgrading to these foldable models will be relieved to know that this software update will also extend to other Galaxy devices.
Samsung Expands One UI 6.1.1 Update to More Galaxy Devices With Advanced AI Features
One UI 6.1.1 was initially rolled out with the recently unveiled Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 at the 2024 Unpacked event. While there have been speculations about other devices receiving the update, we now have confirmation of the Galaxy flagship devices that will be getting the One UI 6.1.1 update along with some new AI-powered features.
According to news shared by well-known insider Tarun Vats on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung has confirmed on a forum the list of flagship devices that will receive the One UI 6.1.1 update. It looks like all phones and tablets released in the past two or three years are included:
- Galaxy S22 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 4
- Galaxy Z Flip 4
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Galaxy S23 series
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy Tab S8
- Galaxy Tab S9
- Galaxy S24 series
Samsung is not extending support for the software upgrade to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Z Fold 3, possibly due to the One UI 6.1 update already offered to these devices. However, we should not dismiss the possibility that these devices might still receive the update later. We anticipate that the Android 15-based One UI 7, expected to roll out at the end of the year or early in 2025, could include support for the devices not currently listed.
In a separate post on Samsung’s official forums for South Korea, details were shared about the features of the One UI 6.1.1 upgrade, mainly focusing on camera advancements. The Auto Zoom feature of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which allows users to automatically zoom in using Flex Camera mode, will also be available on the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The instant slow-motion video feature will be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9, and Galaxy S23. Galaxy AI capabilities, such as Live Effect, Portrait Studio, and Sketch to Image, will be available on all Galaxy devices receiving the One UI 6.1.1 update.
Samsung has not yet confirmed the launch date for the new update on the Galaxy flagship devices, but we know which devices will receive it for now. There is also the possibility of a broader rollout later on.
