Earlier this week, the first public One UI 7.0 beta firmware for Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users was discovered on Samsung’s servers. This marks a significant step forward, indicating that the long-awaited One UI 7.0 Beta Program is finally set to launch.
Beta Firmware Appears Across Key Markets
The initial beta firmware was first identified on Samsung servers for Galaxy S24 Ultra models in India and Europe. Shortly after, it was also spotted (via Tarun Vats) across most of the countries eligible for the beta program, except for China.
Currently, the beta program includes the following markets:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Germany
- Poland
- India
- South Korea
While there’s no sign of availability in China yet, it’s reasonable to assume that Samsung will add this market shortly, given its significance in the tech industry.
Since the introduction of One UI 1.0, Samsung has consistently restricted its beta testing programs to a select group of countries. The same approach is expected for the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 beta, as it continues the tradition of enabling users in these markets to test updates before the global rollout.
Beta Rollout in Phases
Samsung typically launches its beta programs in phases rather than releasing them simultaneously across all regions. Historically, Germany, South Korea, and the United States are the first to receive beta access. The second phase, which includes additional countries, often begins a few weeks later.
However, given the extended wait for the One UI 7.0 beta program, there is speculation that Samsung may accelerate the process this year to make up for delays.
More Devices Expected to Join the Beta
When the second phase of the program rolls out for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is expected to include more devices. All flagship Galaxy smartphones launched in 2023 and 2024 will likely be eligible.
To participate in the beta program, users must register through the Samsung Members app, which already appears to have the necessary updates in place to facilitate the sign-up process.
This development signals Samsung’s ongoing commitment to refining its software experience and engaging users directly in the process of shaping future updates.
