Intel Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake-S” Desktop CPUs and Z890 Motherboards Now Set for October 24th Launch
[Update 9/10/24] – According to HKEPC, the launch has indeed been delayed by a week, with Intel’s Core Ultra 200 CPUs and Z890 motherboards now expected to hit retail shelves on October 24th.
Originally, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” desktop processors were slated to launch on October 17th. However, sources indicate that the launch has been pushed back to October 24th, meaning customers will have to wait just a little longer to get their hands on these new CPUs.
From previous reports, Intel was set to formally introduce its Arrow Lake-S “Core Ultra 200” desktop CPUs on October 10th, with availability in stores starting on October 17th. The updated timeline now pushes the retail launch to October 24th, allowing more time for retailers to stock the new CPUs and Z890 motherboards.
Intel Core Ultra 200 Desktop CPUs—The Initial Lineup
At launch, Intel will offer six different “Unlocked” Core Ultra processors, including the Core Ultra 9 285K(F), Core Ultra 7 265K(F), and Core Ultra 5 245K(F). These CPUs will be available across North American and European markets starting on October 24th, with retailers already beginning to list them.
The launch will be accompanied by the first wave of Intel’s 800-series motherboards, including the enthusiast-targeted Z890 series. For users looking to build systems with the Core Ultra 5 chips, there will be a selection of more mainstream motherboard options as well.
Second-Wave Intel 800-Series Chipsets to Arrive in Early 2025
For those awaiting the non-K CPUs or lower TDP (65W and 35W) models, Intel is expected to release the B860 and H810 chipset motherboards during CES 2025. These chipsets will cater to a wider range of consumers, particularly those looking for budget-friendly desktop systems.
