Epic Mickey Rebrushed, the remake of the first game in the series by Deux Ex series creator Warren Spector’s Junction Point Studio, is set to launch this September on PC and consoles.
Developed by Purple Lamp, the game will be released on September 24th, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, as announced by a new trailer today. Both standard and Collector’s Editions are available for pre-order now. The Collector’s Edition includes a special costume pack and 24-hour early access, though this early access is not available on PC.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed offers a reimagined version of the original game with enhanced visuals and gameplay updates such as new movement abilities like dashing, ground pounding, and sprinting. Despite these tweaks, the game remains a faithful remake, following Mickey Mouse in the Wasteland, a realm of forgotten Disney characters, including Oswald the Rabbit, Walt Disney’s first character, who was eventually replaced by Mickey Mouse in 1928.
