Leaked images of what are claimed to be factory prototypes of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 have surfaced online, offering a first glimpse of the console’s design.
The images, which were shared on a Discord server by a Chinese user, reportedly came from someone bound by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), possibly a factory worker. Based on these photos, the design of the Switch 2 aligns with earlier rumors, showing a larger console with a bigger display and magnetic side rails for the new Joy-Con controllers.
In addition to the alleged images, the specifications for the Nintendo Switch 2 have also been leaked. These specs support previous rumors, indicating that the console will feature 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 7500 MT/s and 256 GB of flash storage. However, the leaked details don’t provide any concrete information regarding the system’s SoC (System on Chip) model. If these specifications turn out to be accurate, we can expect to learn more about the system’s full capabilities soon.
Since these leaks come from an anonymous source, they should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. That said, the leaked images and specs seem to fit in with much of what we’ve heard about the Nintendo Switch 2 in recent months. The good news is that the official reveal of the console is likely just around the corner, so we should soon have a clearer picture of what Nintendo has in store for the next generation.
