The June 2024 Nintendo Direct kicked off with the exciting reveal trailer for Mario and Luigi Brothership, marking the first new game in the series in nearly nine years.
The presentation showcased both gameplay and cinematics, with Nintendo executive Shinya Takahashi introducing the game as a “seafaring adventure” where players can utilize “evolved Bros. moves” with Mario and Luigi. This installment promises a “dynamic twist” on the classic turn-based combat system.
Despite being a recent announcement, the game is set for release on November 7, 2024, so players won’t have to wait long to explore “mysterious islands” with the iconic brothers.
“The brothers return in a brand-new entry in the Mario and Luigi series, embarking on Shipshape Island (part ship, part island) to navigate the expansive world of Concordia,” Nintendo stated. “Play as the mustachioed duo and explore a variety of islands, from tropical rainforests to bustling cities. Along the way, meet new allies and encounter familiar faces from the Mushroom Kingdom like Peach and Bowser.”
Players will need to keep the Brothership afloat while overcoming obstacles, using their powerful Bros. attacks to achieve victory in this innovative twist on turn-based combat.
