Just like previous games in the series, Mortal Kombat 1 is rolling out a variety of DLC fighters, with the game’s first “Kombat Pack” featuring Omni-Man from Invincible, Quan Chi, Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, Ermac, Homelander from The Boys, and Takahashi Takeda.
The latest DLC character, now available for Kombat Pack owners, is Homelander. So, how does this twisted hero actually play? More importantly, how do you execute his gruesome Fatalities? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with all the details on Homelander…
As with other Fatalities, each one needs to be performed from a specific distance away from your opponent. To get a better sense of what “close,” “mid,” and “far” mean, just select Learn from the main menu, then go to Fatalities, and the game will show you the exact ranges you need to be standing at. Every fighter in MK1 has two Fatalities – one available from the start and one that won’t appear in your move list until you unlock it. That said, you can still perform all Fatalities, even if they haven’t been officially unlocked, if you know the right inputs.
Here’s how to pull off Homelander’s two Fatalities:
- Winging It – Down, Forward, Down, Front Kick (Mid)
- Fatality #2 – Back, Forward, Back, Back Punch (Mid)
While Homelander isn’t shy about getting his hands dirty on The Boys TV show, in Mortal Kombat 1, he’s more of a zoner, focusing on keeping his distance with his flying ability and a variety of heat vision attacks. All of Homelander’s heat vision attacks are quick, have great range, and can break through opponents’ armor moves. While Homelander seems geared towards a keep-away playstyle, he does have effective ways to close the gap, such as his “Diabolical Dash” move, which is great for setting up combos. Overall, Homelander might be frustrating to fight against, but if you’re playing as him, use his abilities to your advantage.
Best Kameo tag-team partners: Sareena pairs well with Homelander, as she has some good projectiles and can add a bit of extra speed to your game.
