The anticipation is finally coming to an end. Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro is set to be revealed in an upcoming technical presentation led by Mark Cerny.
This highly anticipated presentation, scheduled for September 10th at 8:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. CET, is expected to run for about 9 minutes. Although the announcement itself hasn’t explicitly mentioned the PlayStation 5 Pro, it’s almost certain that Sony will use the event to showcase its long-rumored hardware upgrade.
Rumors surrounding the PlayStation 5 Pro have been swirling for some time, and its reveal this week confirms many insider reports. Notably, a trusted insider recently confirmed the early September unveiling, while another source shared early glimpses of the system’s packaging last month, indicating the design won’t differ significantly from the base PS5 model.
What to Expect from the PlayStation 5 Pro?
The PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to be a substantial upgrade from its predecessor. Early reports suggest a 45% boost in GPU performance, along with a fourfold improvement in ray tracing capabilities. The system will also come with PlayStation’s new Spectral Super Resolution upscaler, allowing the console to deliver performance up to 100% faster than the original PS5.
