Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced an imminent PS5 system update unveiling the Community Game Support feature—an evolution of the current Game Support functionality. As the name suggests, Community Game Support will leverage the collective wisdom of gamers, providing invaluable tips and advice to aid fellow players.
PS5’s ‘Community Game Support’ update set to arrive soon As disclosed on the PS Blog, the enhanced Game Support feature will be accessible to all PS5 users, regardless of their PS Plus subscription status. Previously, this feature was exclusive to subscribers.
Community Game Support aims to enrich the gaming experience by expanding the repertoire of hints and tips available, incorporating insightful gameplay videos contributed by participating players. Essentially, if players encounter challenges within a game, they will have access to informative videos guiding them through. Additionally, the feature will also offer helpful insights and tips directly from game developers.
Accessing Community Game Support will be as straightforward as accessing the existing feature, such as by pressing the PS button on the DualSense controller to access the Action Card adorned with the “Hints inside” icon. Moreover, this functionality will also be seamlessly integrated into the PS App, similar to the current Game Support feature.
To opt into the program and contribute to the gaming community, interested individuals will need to follow these steps once they become available:
Navigate to [Captures & Broadcasts] > [Captures] > [Auto Captures] > [Community Game Support], then select [Participate] to enroll in the program. Additionally, users can specify a monthly capture limit to regulate the number of gameplay videos they permit to be captured each month. Opting in or out can be done at any time through the PS5’s Settings menu.
The rollout of Community Game Support is slated for the near future, commencing with select games.
