Xbox Gamescom 2024 Show Will be “Huge,” Xbox Insider Expresses; More Content Wasn’t Displayed During June Showcase
Microsoft’s anticipated Xbox Gamescom 2024 showcase is expected to be a significant event, according to Xbox insider and Kinda Funny XCast’s Parris Lilly.
No doubt, Microsoft’s recent Xbox showcase was among Xbox’s best presentations to date. Given the recent controversy over Microsoft’s multi-platform strategy, a strong showcase was necessary. Nevertheless, credit must be given where it is due, and Xbox delivered with hits such as the upcoming Fable, Perfect Dark, a Gears of War reboot, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and South of Midnight.
From the looks of it, however, the Xbox team had much more up its sleeve, with even more exciting announcements expected at this year’s annual Gamescom event in Cologne. At least, that is what Parris Lilly suggested on the ResetEra forums recently. “Told ya that Showcase was gonna be good and the wild thing is I had multiple people at Xbox tell me there was so much more they could have shown,” the Xbox insider wrote. He added, “Gamescom is shaping up to be a big show too.”
No additional details were shared, but we are eager to learn if Microsoft indeed has more to reveal to the community. Games that come to mind include Project Mara, Clockwork Revolution, Everwild, Blade, Kojima’s OD, The Elder Scrolls VI, Contraband, and others.
Microsoft has yet to officially confirm its presence at Gamescom 2024, but given its consistent attendance at the annual event over the past decade, it’s likely that the brand will be attending the event in Cologne this year as well. We’ll update you as soon as we learn more about this year’s Gamescom event. What are you expecting from Gamescom 2024? Which developers and publishers do you hope to see? As reported back in April, Nintendo won’t be attending the event. Meanwhile, rival Sony has also yet to confirm whether it will attend the event in Germany.
