Apple has officially announced that it will host its special iPhone 16 launch event on September 9, where additional products, such as the Apple Watch, are expected to be revealed. Besides the iPhone, the event may feature product updates with new internals and design changes. Here’s what you can expect from the event.
All That Apple Could Declare at its September 9 ‘It’s Glowtime’ Occasion
The iPhone 16 launch event will be live-streamed across platforms like YouTube, Apple TV, and Apple’s website, starting at 10:00 AM. If you’re curious about what devices are expected, here’s what we know so far.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Both models will showcase a new back design with a vertical camera layout. They will also adopt the Action Button, previously exclusive to Pro models, and feature improved internals that enhance Apple Intelligence capabilities.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
The highlight of the event will likely be the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The Pro models are expected to feature larger screens—6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max—making them the largest iPhones ever launched. Both models will sport upgraded camera hardware while maintaining a similar design language and incorporate AI-powered features via the new A18 SoC.
Apple Watch Series 10, Ultra 3, and SE 3
Apple is expected to refresh its Apple Watch lineup. The Apple Watch Series 10 will feature a larger display and slimmer body, possibly marking its 10th-anniversary release. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to have upgraded internals, while the Apple Watch SE 3 may feature a plastic body targeting a younger audience.
AirPods 4 Variations
Two new AirPods models are expected, aimed at the lower-end and mid-range markets. Both models will come with improved audio features, and a redesign is anticipated, making the base models look more like the AirPods Pro.
Apple Intelligence
Apple is likely to showcase its Apple Intelligence features at the event, particularly for the iPhone 16 lineup. These features were hinted at earlier this year, but we expect to see more advanced AI capabilities in the new iPhones.
iOS 18 and Other Software Updates
Apple will release iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, and other updates to developers right after the event. The updates are expected to become available to the public once the devices hit the shelves by September 20.
iPad Mini 7 and Entry-Level iPad
There are rumors that iPad Mini 7 and the entry-level iPad 10 will also be unveiled at the event, both with upgraded internals. The iPad Mini 7 may feature the A17 Pro or A18 Pro chip for better performance.
