Apple has introduced a free repair program for iPhone 14 Plus models that might experience issues with their rear cameras. According to the company, “a small percentage” of these models may not display a preview when the rear camera is in use. If you’re encountering this issue, your iPhone could be eligible for a complimentary repair, and if you’ve previously paid for a fix, you may be eligible for a refund. This problem has been found in devices manufactured between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024, about six months after the initial 2022 launch of the model.
To check eligibility, you can enter your device’s serial number on Apple’s official repair program page. If your iPhone qualifies, simply make an appointment and bring it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple retail store, or contact Apple Support to mail it to a service center. This repair program covers eligible devices for up to three years from the original purchase date, so even if the issue doesn’t appear right away, you’ll be covered. However, note that Apple may restrict repairs to the original region of purchase, so if you bought your device while abroad, it’s best to confirm with Apple directly.
