Rumors had suggested that Apple would unveil the iPhone 16 lineup on September 10, but the company has now officially confirmed the event for September 9 under the title ‘It’s Glowtime.’ According to the details in the invite, the keynote is set to begin at 10:00 AM, with a select group of media outlets and content creators invited to witness the announcements firsthand.
Recent reports indicated that Apple has completed filming for the event, signaling that the tech giant is fully prepared to introduce four new flagship models in just a few days. The event format is expected to remain consistent with previous years, where both in-person experiences for the press and live streaming for a global audience will be available, with YouTube being the primary platform for the live broadcast.
Alongside the iPhone 16 series, the event is anticipated to feature the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 10, a new Apple Watch SE potentially sporting a plastic build instead of the usual premium aluminum, and an updated version of the Apple Watch Ultra. For those eagerly awaiting new AirPods, Apple may also reveal two variants of its in-ear wireless earbuds—one with Active Noise Cancellation and another more affordable version without this feature.
Estimates suggest that Apple plans to increase production of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, with the larger model expected to dominate the initial batch of 90 million units slated for 2024. A recent survey revealed that many consumers would consider upgrading to the iPhone 16 if Apple introduces a more efficient cooling system and competitive pricing. However, a significant portion of respondents stated that they have no plans to upgrade due to financial constraints.
