In a strategic move set for early May, Apple is gearing up to unveil its latest series of iPad Pros, now incorporating OLED technology in their displays, based on insights from an analysis by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This next generation of iPads is not only anticipated to bring about a significant leap in visual quality but also introduce for the first time an iPad Air variant featuring a more expansive 12.9-inch screen.
Delving into the technical advancements, the forthcoming iPad Pro lineup is expected to be powered by Apple’s proprietary M3 processor, enhancing performance and efficiency. Complementing this is a redesigned Magic Keyboard, now offering an enlarged trackpad for an improved user experience. The new iPad Air, meanwhile, is poised to bridge the gap between its predecessors, adopting the M2 chip from the previous generation and available in two sizes: the familiar 10.9-inch and the new 12.9-inch variant, catering to a wider range of preferences.
This update comes after a considerable hiatus, marking nearly two years since the last significant refresh in the iPad portfolio. Initial projections had slated the launch for the latter part of March or April; however, additional time was necessitated to refine the software accompanying these devices. Should Apple proceed with a May release, this timing strategically positions the launch just before the much-anticipated WWDC 2024, scheduled for June 10th, setting the stage for an exciting mid-year for Apple enthusiasts and tech aficionados alike.
