The 41mm Apple Watch Series 9 has recently been spotted on sale for an enticing $299. Although this remarkable deal quickly sold out, hopeful buyers can still scout for models in alternative colors at Amazon and Walmart, with prices commencing from $329, marking a $70 reduction. Additional enticing offers are also available, covering a range of products from earbuds to TVs, instant cameras, and more.
Observing my somewhat older Apple Watch 6, I realized the date was April 1st. This prompted a second glance at Amazon’s listing for the Apple Watch Series 9 to ensure the pricing wasn’t part of an April Fool’s jest. The 41mm/GPS version, adorned with a midnight case and Sport Loop band, indeed boasts a sale price of $299.99 on Amazon, slashing $100 off its original price, and just $30 above its historical low. As of this moment, this price cut appears exclusive to this particular color variant.
The Apple Watch Series 9 stands out as the premier choice for iPhone aficionados in search of a fitness tracking device. Equipped with all the necessary sensors for monitoring vital fitness metrics and overall wellness, including sleep, it’s a robust tool for health management. However, it’s worth noting that this version might not include the SpO2 oxygen sensor, which was reportedly removed due to patent disputes.
Though the Series 9 doesn’t represent a monumental leap from its predecessor, it does introduce a range of new features and hardware improvements. These include the S9 SiP processor that enhances Siri’s on-device functionality and ultra-wideband radios that refine the precision of the Find My feature, enabling users to locate their iPhones in addition to AirTags. Moreover, the device incorporates Apple’s innovative double tap gesture, facilitating hands-free interaction with various prompts and notifications.
Turning our attention to audio gear, Sennheiser’s latest flagship earbuds, despite their high acclaim (particularly noted in our Momentum True Wireless 4 review), might still be out of reach for some due to their $299.95 price tag. However, a compelling offer on the preceding Momentum True Wireless 3 model is currently available. Until April 10th (or while stocks last), these earbuds are being offered at a discounted price of $119.99 in white at Woot, tying with their lowest price point ever.
Despite being an older model, the Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds continue to impress with their exceptional audio quality, standing toe-to-toe with leading brands such as Bose, Sony, and Apple. They feature robust active noise cancellation and a transparency mode that, while not quite on par with some competitors, is still commendably effective. The earbuds come with a wireless charging case, extending their battery life by an additional 21 hours beyond the base seven-hour capacity.
In our initial trials, we noted some minor bugs and connectivity issues with the Momentum True Wireless 3. Although it’s unclear if all these issues have been resolved through subsequent firmware updates, the current offer, coupled with the addition of multipoint support and a two-year warranty, makes them an attractive option for those in the market for new earbuds.
