As Apple gears up to launch the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models next week, tech enthusiasts are eager to see the significant changes expected in these flagship devices. Meanwhile, Samsung is also preparing to unveil its answer to Apple’s newest offerings—the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Rumors suggest that these two devices will share many design similarities, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max might provide crucial insights into what we can expect from Samsung’s flagship.
Design and Size Similarities Between iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra
According to leaker Ice Universe, the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s release will give us a clear idea of what to expect from the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of design and size. Both devices are rumored to feature a 6.9-inch display, making them nearly identical in terms of dimensions. This suggests that Samsung is likely following Apple’s lead when it comes to the overall size and form factor of its flagship smartphone.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max is also expected to introduce some of the slimmest bezels seen on any smartphone, a trend that Samsung will likely adopt for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. While specific details about bezel thickness are still under wraps, the final release of both devices will confirm how closely they align.
Galaxy S25 Ultra: More Ultra Without a Dynamic Island
Ice Universe also mentioned a personal preference for the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display, which will reportedly forgo the “dynamic island” notch found in Apple’s design. This choice could make the Galaxy S25 Ultra feel “more Ultra,” offering a less intrusive viewing experience. However, this ultimately comes down to user preference—some may prefer Apple’s Face ID and dynamic island over Samsung’s in-display fingerprint scanner.
Unique Features and Performance Enhancements
Both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Galaxy S25 Ultra are expected to introduce unique features that will set them apart from each other and the competition. Apple’s flagship may come equipped with exclusive Apple Intelligence features powered by the upgraded A18 Pro chip, offering enhanced performance that could outshine the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, leaving the Exynos variant for Samsung’s foldable devices. The battle between these two flagship models will be fierce, and it remains to be seen how they will stack up against each other in the coming year.
