Google’s Gemini AI chatbot is now faster and more efficient thanks to a significant upgrade to the Gemini 1.5 Flash AI model.
With the new 1.5 Flash model, you will experience “across-the-board improvements in quality and latency, with especially noticeable enhancements in reasoning and image comprehension,” stated Amar Subramanya, VP of engineering for Gemini, in a recent blog post. Additionally, the context window of Gemini, which is the amount of text an AI model can process at once, has been expanded fourfold to 32K tokens, according to Subramanya.
Announced at Google I/O in May, the 1.5 Flash upgrade is now available in the free version of Gemini on both web and mobile platforms starting today.
What’s New with Gemini AI
Google has also introduced several other updates to Gemini. To assist users in finding accurate information on their research topics, the AI will now display links to related content for “fact-seeking prompts” starting today. These links can be accessed by clicking on a gray arrow at the end of a paragraph.
Furthermore, Google will gradually introduce Gemini in Google Messages to users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland. Additionally, Gemini for teens will be accessible in more than 40 languages “in the coming week.”
