They can help you tailor your resume for specific job openings.
LinkedIn is introducing new AI-powered tools designed to assist users in finding jobs, customizing their resumes, and even receiving guidance from AI chatbots. These new features will be exclusive to Premium subscribers and will be available in English globally.
One new feature allows users to search for jobs on LinkedIn by entering a natural language prompt. For instance, in a blog post, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer Tomer Cohen provides the example, “find me a remote marketing job in Detroit that pays at least $110,000.” If the search results are accurate, this could become a valuable tool for job seekers.
LinkedIn can also evaluate your resume and offer personalized recommendations to improve it for specific job postings. Users will have the option to upload a resume, receive feedback, and make interactive edits with the help of AI, as explained by LinkedIn’s Rohan Rajiv in a blog post. Additionally, there’s a tool to assist you in creating a cover letter “from scratch” with AI support.
These enhancements build upon other Premium AI-driven features LinkedIn began testing late last year, which included the ability to summarize posts from your LinkedIn feed.
LinkedIn’s AI applications extend beyond job searching. The platform is also piloting AI personas featuring a select group of experts you can interact with to learn about various business topics. (These are similar to LinkedIn’s version of Meta’s celebrity chatbots.) “The responses you’ll receive are trained by experts and represent a blend of insights tailored to each learner’s unique needs,” Cohen states. The list of instructors includes Alicia Reece, Anil Gupta, Dr. Gemma Leigh Roberts, and Lisa Gates.
The company is also committed to enhancing the platform’s search capabilities using generative AI, although specifics were not provided. “With our new search abilities, every search interaction becomes more intelligent — whether you’re looking to find someone, explore jobs, conduct outreach, or seek knowledge and answers,” Cohen says. “AI is set to revolutionize our search functions, allowing you to delve into any topic directly through LinkedIn search.” Cohen assures that these search improvements will be implemented “in the coming weeks.”
