Improving your Game With Divinity: Original Sin 2 Mod Tools
Divinity: Original Sin 2 has an amazing Game Master mode in which players that want an RPG experience can conveniently have this experience. The mode is very user-friendly and rich with gameplay. Players that are ready for more can get an even deeper experience with this mode.
Copies of Original Sin 2 all have an environment in which you can use the mod tool to change the main campaign-say. This can be done by adding different weapons or spells. Players can also create brand new campaigns, levels, characters, or any other aspects to the game that they want.
Basically, anything that is used in the main campaign can be used for any of your mods and adventures. Below is information on how to set up the mod tools so that you can start enhancing your gameplay today!
1. Download the Needed Data
If you own the game, you will need to find the game within the library of your Stream account. Right-click on the icon to open the menu for the Properties. Find the DLC tab, and check the box that reads Divinity Engine 2 Data. The game will then begin to update to the latest version.
2. Download the Tools
When the data has finished downloading, switch over to the Tools section within Steam. There should be a copy of The Divinity Engine 2. Next, install and run the game. A prompt should open up that has a path to the data of the game. This is referring to the Data folder in your Divinity: Original Sin 2 folder where the installation is.
It is imperative that this is done the right way because if it is not you will not receive a warning, but the engine may have a crash whenever you try to load a new level. If this happens you can easily fix the setting so that a crash does not occur.
Doing an Alternate Setup
If you have a copy of Divinity: Original Sin 2 located on GOG, you will need to download all of the tools. These will be listed as Editor under the section of Game Goodies. First, you will need to extract the Editor folder from the game’ original Data folder. Then Run the file, DivinityEngine2.exe. From there, set the location for the game data path to the Data folder.
After your tools are set up you can do many things to enhance your gameplay. You will be able to make new levels from the ground up. The tools may seem intimidating, but once you get started you will be able to quickly figure out how it all works. New skills can also be added to the campaigns that are already there.
There are a few steps to adding new skills, but guides for adding skills to this game can be found on many gaming websites online. There are many players that have created their own wiki guides, or gaming communities that have extensive threads that can assist you with experimenting and creating things with your mod tools.
